Belle Babes

The day that Camden has been anticipating and anxiously awaiting finally arrived today. The day that she would get to perform a dance at the local junior college's basketball game. Tyler Junior College's drill team, the Apache Belles, offer Belle Babes twice a year. This is when girls can meet up at the college one Saturday morning, learn a short dance routine from the Belles and perform it at half-time, either at a basketball or football game. This is the first time Camden has done it and she has been looking forward to it for the last 3 weeks. She had a few little friends that were going to do it so I felt comfortable letting her join in. She was a little leary and shy this morning when I dropped her off for practice, but when I picked her up she was chattering away about all the fun she had on the way home. After a quick lunch and rest, we got her dressed in her overlay and skirt and took some pictures. She looked SO CUTE!! We headed to the basketball game as we waited for half-time to approach. Then the Apache Belles walked in with the girls and they took the floor for their routine. Camden totally surprised me. She didn't look nervous or scared in the least. She looked so grown up as she watched the teachers and followed their lead. She did great!! I am so proud of her. She even said she wants to do it again in the fall, where they will get to perform on the football field! How exciting!!! And, in the fall, Claire will be old enough to participate. I can't wait!!!!!
