Play date

Today we went to Mrs. Leslie's house for a play date with Cullen and Grayson. Mrs. Kate met us there and brought along her gang, Preston, Lillie Katherine and sweet little Annaleigh. The big kids had lots of fun playing upstairs and making lots of noise. Camden really enjoyed watching a movie in the "movie feater" as she called it. Leslie and Ben have a theater room in their new home, which is SO cool! Leslie, your house is beautiful!!! We enjoyed our time with you, Kate and all the kiddos so much! Let's do it again soon! Before we left we tried for a group shot. I don't think we managed to get one with all seven of them looking at the camera. Grayson even escaped in the last one. Oh well, maybe next time we'll succeed.

Baby Shower

Tuesday night a good friend from church hosted a baby shower, not only for me, but for two other girls who are also pregnant (we're all having girls!). We had so much fun. There was a sea of gifts to open, delicious food and cake to eat, and delightful friends and family to visit with. Robin, thank you so much for a great evening! You did way too much but I greatly appreciate your generosity! Friends and family, thank you so much for coming out to celebrate the upcoming arrival of baby Carlyle. You all made it a very special night!

Splash Day!

Tuesday was Splash Day at school. Camden and Claire had been so excited all weekend about wearing their swimsuits to school. We woke up that morning to dark clouds and sprinkles, just hoping it would hold off until after lunch. It was VERY humid, but the weather cooperated for Splash Day. Thank goodness! Otherwise, we would have had some disappointed kids. Camden and Claire had so much fun!

Carlyle's 3D sonogram

We went this morning for a 3D sonogram of Carlyle. She seemed to cooperate pretty well. She's so cute! I can't wait to meet her!! Here are a few of the best pics.

She gave us a little smile. The thing above her head and to the right on every picture is the umbilical cord.

30 weeks 1 day

I went to the doctor today. It had been 3 weeks since the last visit and I only gained 2 pounds...yeah! It's probably because I can't eat as much anymore. There just isn't as much room as there used to be. Everything looked good with baby Carlyle. Dr. Lieb's first remark as she entered the room was, "Well, you sure are blossoming." Hmmm...I guess that's a nice way of saying that my belly is getting bigger. But, she's right...I do feel much bigger. My back is beginning to hurt and when I'm on my feet a lot I can feel them starting to swell. I feel like I'm even beginning to waddle. Oh well, just 2 more months to go! I think I can make it!!

All time worst!

Well, I do believe that of all the crazy stunts Camden and Claire have pulled, today was the all time WORST! We were at my parents' house, and while I'm working, the girls usually play with toys or watch cartoons. As I was working today, Camden came running in and said that Claire had poo-poo EVERYWHERE! I wasn't exactly sure what that meant, but I didn't hesitate to run to the bathroom. It was so much worse than I had imagined. Claire was standing in front of the commode with poop all over her hands, fingers, legs, feet, and toes. It was all over the floor (it actually looked like it had been smooshed by her feet), all over the commode (seat, lid, outside and inside) and all over the rug on the floor. I did yell a little bit at first, but she started crying so I backed down and told her it was OK. I honestly thought maybe she was trying to wipe, but couldnt understand how in the world it got everywhere. After using an entire tub of wipes cleaning her hands, fingers, legs, feet, toes, floor and commode, I put Claire in the tub where I assumed she would be safe. In the meantime, I was busy sterilizing the commode and floor and gathering up rugs, towels, and clothes to be washed. As I walked into the hall I noticed brown spots all the way to the living room. Yes, you know what it was...UGH!!! So, my next cleaning task was Resolve on the carpet...scrub, scrub, scrub!! Got that cleaned up and went back to bathe Claire. I scrubbed her down, from head to toe, just to make sure I didn't miss anything. After her bath she was dressed in some fresh, clean clothes while I sprayed Lysol to remove the smell. What a mess! After it was all over, I asked Claire how she got poop everywhere. I asked her if she was playing in it. Her response, "Yes, Mommy. I just like it." Needless to say, we had a long talk about how that is disgusting, gross, and yucky. And, she was informed that if she EVER did that again, she would be getting a spanking. Her response, "A real hard spanking, Mommy?" Maybe the terrible 2's have just started late for Claire. Let's hope not!!!
P.S. So sorry I didn't post any pics of this little stunt...I wasn't sure that any of you would have appreciated that. Besides, we all know what that stuff looks like anyway!

Just like Mommy

For the past week, Camden has been asking me if she and Claire could dress up in my clothes. We just really haven't had the time these last couple of days. Today she asked me again, and how could I say no? We headed into my closet where Camden found a pink gingham shirt that she wanted to wear. She refused any pants, saying that the shirt was her dress. She found some flip flops and a purse to complete the ensemble. Claire found a t-shirt, flip flops, one of my bags, one of her baby's diaper bags and one of her purses. She was so proud of her outfit. She immediately said that she was going to Wal-Mart to go shopping. What a pair!!!

A night with Chuck E. Cheese

Wednesday night we took the girls to Chuck E. Cheese. They were so excited when we asked them if they wanted to go. We had not really planned on going there, but knew the girls would have fun. So, Jeremy and I got mentally prepared for a night at Chuck E. Cheese. It wasn't so bad. When we arrived, there weren't too many people there, which made it very nice. Camden and Claire immediately wanted to play games and ride the rides. They had a ball, which made the trip worthwhile for me!

Patriotic pride

Tonight we were playing outside and Camden went and pulled a flag out of the yard that someone had put there for the holiday. She held it up and she and Claire started to say the Pledge of Allegience. I knew that Camden could say it, but had no idea that Claire could say it from beginning to end. It's amazing what their little minds will remember!

Playing in the rain

Sunday afternoon we anticipated the rain as we watched the dark clouds. Camden wanted to play in the rain so bad. So, when we noticed the sprinkles coming, the girls immediately asked for their umbrellas and headed outside. The rain got harder and harder. They had so much fun...until the lightening started. That meant we had to go in, which they were less than thrilled about. But, safety first!!
