4 month stats

Carlyle turned 4 months on January 18 and we had our 4 month check-up today. Here are her stats:
** 12 lb 14 oz (28%)
** 24.2 inches (42%)
Here are some pictures of my sweet girl after her 3 1/2 hour nap...WOW!! I think that's the longest nap she's had since she was a newborn!! I guess those shots wore her out.

This is her new favorite thing. Along with sucking on her fingers, she gets the front of her outfits SOAKED with drool. Time to invest in some more bibs!!

Baylor Fun!

We headed out this morning for a day in Waco to see the Bears! Camden and Claire are always excited about going to Baylor. They love seeing the bear, going to the bookstore to find some "treasure", love eating at Ninfa's, and enjoy whatever event or game we are attending! Today was no different. We had lunch at our favorite restaurant and then headed to campus to visit the bears and make a stop by the bookstore. I tried to get a picture of all three girls, but as you can see, there's always one child who is not cooperating! Pretty frustrating, but rather amusing at the same time.

A kind stranger volunteered to take a picture of our family in front of the bears. Unfortunately, Carlyle's eyes were closed. But, still a good picture!

Then, it was a little early to head to the game and Carlyle was BEYOND tired. We got in the car and she passed out, so Jeremy drove around for a good 45 minutes so that she could sleep. In the meantime, Camden, Claire and Mommy all fell asleep, too. Great nap, just not long enough. Camden and Claire had a great time at the game. They love the bear mascot so we usually always get a picture of him.

Third time's a charm

Carlyle turned 4 months old this week and since I have two other kids, I know that is the age when our doctor wants us to start cereal, fruits and veggies. So, instead of waiting until we go for Carlyle's 4 month check-up, I took it upon myself to start her on cereal. I tried it twice this week...just plain rice cereal. She is just like Camden and Claire, in that she HATED it. I can't say that I blame her...there's absolutely no taste whatsoever. So, last night I added a little applesauce to her cereal and she ate the entire bowl. She loved it!!! And, she was actually a pretty neat eater! I hope we can continue that habit.

4 months old

These last 4 months have literally flown by. I blinked and my baby is 4 months old. Oh how I miss the days when she would lay on my chest and sleep. These days she prefers to be laid down to go to sleep...no rocking, no cuddling. I won't lie..it makes me sad. I can't believe that in 8 short months she will be celebrating her first birthday! Time, please slow down!! We attemtped a little photo shoot for her 4 month milestone, but the stinker WOULD NOT smile. As soon as the camera goes down she grins from ear to ear and as soon as it goes back up the grin is gone. She is a toot, but she's my little toot and I love her so much! The last picture shows that she was definitely ready for the photo shoot to be over! Enough is enough!!

Jeremy got me Photoshop as an early birthday present and today is really the first time that I have really messed with it. Can I just say frustrating????? I have no idea what I'm doing and was just pushing buttons, etc... This is the finished product. It wasn't really what I started off trying to do, but I like it. And, after I got it the way I wanted it, I spent at least 2 hours trying to figure out how to save it so that it would upload. Maybe I'm just a little slow, but it took me forever. I finally pressed the right button and voila!! That wore me out so I will be going to bed very soon!!! And, by the way, I have NO IDEA why this picture is bigger than the others. That's another lesson for another day!

All dolled up

Today we headed to church and I decided to dress Carlyle in a smocked dress that Camden wore for her first Easter. It has a smocked bonnet to match. It's so cute!! Carlyle looked like a little doll. Here are all three girls.

And here's a few pictures of Miss Carlyle in her smocking!

Flashback

As I was looking through some pictures today, I found these three pics. All three girls at Christmas time wearing the exact same dress...Camden was 2 months old, Claire was 3 months old and Carlyle was 2 1/2 months old. Each picture is labeled with a letter. Which picture do you think is Camden, which one is Claire and which one is Carlyle? Are you up for the challenge?? Make a comment and let me know what you think.

Wednesday Fun!!

Since Carlyle was in an unusually decent mood today, I attempted to do a mini photo-shoot. Here's what we started out with...not really any smiles, but still pretty cute!

Then...oopsie daisy!! We fell over.
*On a side note...I didn't realize this 3 month Carter's outfit was too short for Miss Priss. She was wearing high waters today. Oh well, I really like blue on her so we had to sport the outfit one more time!

After a few more pictures, Carlyle was leaned back in the recliner and she tried to sit herself up. And, here's what happened next...pictures tell the story.

And finally, what's a day without a little dress-up? Camden and Claire decided it would be fun to dress up their sister in some of their new duds!! I think Carlyle really enjoyed dressing up, especially with the boa. She really wanted to see how it tasted!!

And just for fun...same pic in black and white.

Mommy needs some sleep!!

Who couldn't love this face??

For the past few days, Carlyle has been much more difficult to deal with. She has been very sporadic with taking her bottles, taking only a couple of ounces usually at each feeding. Friday she only took ONE full bottle the entire day. She would suck and then arch her back and cry, like she was in pain. By Saturday morning I was sure it was her ears. I called to get an appt with the doctor for that morning but they were booked. The nurse told me I could go to Direct Care or to the ER. I really wanted her doctor to see her because he knows her history, not to mention the fact that she just finished an antibiotic for a double ear infection on Christmas Eve. I decided to just wait it out and take her in on Monday, however, Sunday morning was worse. She woke up a couple of times Sat. night to eat and then Sunday morning was awake at 8. I fixed her a 4 oz bottle and she barely took one ounce. She cried and cried and cried. I decided right then that I was going to skip church and take her to Direct Care. The doctor said her ears were clear and suggested that it was just colic...REALLY??? I think I know what colic is, since 2 out of my 3 kids have had it. This is NOT colic. He suggested some Mylicon drops...again, REALLY? Anyway, I was very frustrated when I left there. We got home and I still couldn't get her to eat. FINALLY, around 12:30 she took an entire bottle (probably because she was starving). Anyway, I put her down for a nap at 2pm and she slept until 5:30pm. I was even lucky enough to get a much needed nap today. I couldn't believe she slept that long, not to mention she skipped her next feeding at 3:30. She took the entire 4oz bottle at 5:30, took a little nap from 6:30-7:30 and even took a 6 oz bottle before going to bed at 8:45. WOW!! Not sure what the change was, but I'm hoping it continues. I hate seeing her in pain, especially when I have no idea what's wrong. Here's hoping for a good night's sleep...for EVERYONE. I say EVERYONE because for the last 3 hours, Camden and Claire have taken turns getting up out of bed at least 5 or 6 times. If only I could get all 3 of my kids to sleep...ALL NIGHT...EVERY NIGHT!!! For those of you out there who have kids that sleep 12 hours a night....would you please come take my children home with you, for as long as it takes, and do some SLEEP TRAINING??? You think I'm kidding?? No, no, no...I'm so serious. I just want ONE night when everyone sleeps, all night until 7am. Is that too much to ask???
