Good Friday Fun

Friday morning we headed over to Marme's house to meet Jax and Madeline to decorate Easter cookies. Camden and Claire had so much fun getting to ice the cookies and decorate however they wanted. Icing, sprinkles and jelly beans were everywhere, but oh what fun the kids had!! Carlyle enjoyed eating M&M's, while watching her sisters and cousins do the decorating. Thanks Marme' for letting us come and make a mess in your kitchen!









Friday night our church hosted a family event called "Journey to the Cross". It was basically a hands-on experience of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. It was very helpful that we had already done the Resurrection Eggs with the girls earlier in the week. It was a very neat experience and I'm thankful that our girls are old enough to really understand why we celebrate Easter! After it was over, we went next door to TCBY and enjoyed some yummy yogurt!!

School Easter Egg Hunts

All three girls had Easter egg hunts at school today. Since I had to work, Jeremy was able to help hide eggs for Camden's class and stuck around to watch her hunt for eggs. He even took a few pictures for me. What a great Dadddy!!






Claire and Carlyle also had egg hunts today and had so much fun!

Easter Egg Fun

Dying Easter eggs has become a fun tradition for our family every year. I'm not going to lie...the mess makes me a little crazy. I like it to be VERY controlled and neat, but let's face it...with 3 kids the word "neat" doesn't exist. The past few years, it hasn't bothered me too much because we had an old table that was scratched, dented and dinged up and was stained from things like markers, watercolors, and pens. So, I didn't really care if they got the egg dye on the table. I just thought all the stains gave the table "character". But, since we got a new table when we moved, I was all about protecting it from stains. So, I covered the table with newspaper in hopes that the girls would contain the dripped dye to the paper. And, I'm glad to report that it worked perfectly!!

What a fun tradition for the girls!! Even Carlyle was able to enjoy it this year. She loved dunking the eggs in the dye. Unfortunately, she got a little carried away and dropped an egg on the floor. Oh well, at least they were hard boiled:)

19 months old

I can't believe that Carlyle is only 5 months away from being 2!! She is getting so big and has really become more fluent in talking. She can say lots of words, but continues to talk in "jibberish". Although I usually cannot understand what she is saying, there's no doubt that she knows exactly what she is saying!! Carlyle loves all kinds of music and will start dancing when she hears it. Even music from a toy can get her to bounce up and down. Carlyle has gotten really good at walking and is doing much better at keeping up with her big sisters. She thinks she is just as big as they are, and wants whatever they have. We were at my parents on Monday and Claire wanted some ice cream. She took Papa out to the freezer to get a push-up and Carlyle immediately reached in the box and pulled one out, too. Of course, Papa wasn't going to tell her no. She pretty much gets what she wants when Papa is around. And, does it surprise you that she LOVED it?? She also threw the BIGGEST fit when I took it away from her so I could clean her up. This girl knows what she wants and will throw a fit until she gets it (although I didn't give the ice cream back).

Surprise Trip to the Zoo

Sunday after church, we surprised the girls and took them to the zoo. They kept trying to guess what their surprise was, so when we turned into the zoo, they were thrilled! Carlyle had a very short nap on the way, so she wasn't in the best mood when she woke up. Luckily, Carlyle loves being outside and the weather was gorgeous, so it didn't take her long to perk up. We all had a great afternoon together as a family!! Hopefully, with all this nice weather, we can have alot more fun family days!!
