Wonderful Wednesday

This post is going to be long, so dont feel like you have to read it all. Just wanted to document Camden's 1st field day! This morning Claire, Carlyle and I headed up to school to watch Camden participate in field day. My dad wanted to come but had to work. Ironically, his job was in Lindale and when he got there, the man wasn't home. So, he surprised us and showed up to watch Camden. I'm so glad he was there to help out with Claire and Carlyle. I thought Carlyle would be fine in the stroller, and she might have been if Papa hadn't been there. But, she didn't want to ride and was ALL OVER THE PLACE! Thanks to my Dad for helping follow her around. Jeremy was able to get away from work for a little while to come watch, too. Camden had a great time and I loved getting to watch her have so much fun!

After snow cones, parents were allowed to take their kids home with them. Of course, Camden begged to go home. Leslie took Cullen and they invited us to join them at Cracker Barrel. Talk about chaos...two mommies, two 6 year olds, two 4 year olds and two 1 year olds! WOW!! It really was fun, though! There were times all we could do was just laugh. Three kids a piece...this is our life...and we love it!!

Claire and Grayson (our middle children, who are SO much alike)

I'm sad I didn't get a picture of the babies. They were both going on no nap and were pretty tired. As we were walking out of the restaurant we see tons of people in red, white and blue holding American flags. We found out that they were there to welcome home a soldier. There were some older ladies who "invited" us to stay and help and after we were handed flags, we felt it would be rude to leave. Not to mention, there were tons of people blocking our car, so there really was no way we were leaving. It was a neat experience for the kids and I hope it is something that they will remember. It was neat watching them stand, waving their flag alongside so many other people.

Cheering on as the soldier and his mom drive by.

Thanking the soldier for his service.

Toothless Tuesday

Tuesday afternoon Camden was messing with her top tooth, which was already loose. She went back and forth with me about whether she would let me pull it out for her. Finally, she told me I could pull it out, but not hard. I really wasn't sure if I could do it or not, and I definitely didn't want to hurt her. But, I grabbed a kleenex and on the second attempt, the tooth came right out. I think it surprised us both. So, lucky for her, the tooth fairy had a little cash on hand for her visit last night. Here's my toothless beauty!

Fun in Dallas

About a month ago, Jeremy won tickets to a Ranger game and a free hotel. So, Friday we headed to Dallas for the night with Camden and Claire. They were so excited about going to a Rangers game and spending the night in a hotel. They were really wanting to go swimming, however, the weather didn't quite cooperate and it was a bit chilly. Our hotel had a shuttle service to the game, which was definitely a great decision. It dropped us off right at the gate and picked us up in the same spot. It was so nice not to have to walk a mile to the car. Camden and Claire loved the trolley ride.

Posing at the top of the stadium. Our seats were only two rows from the top. Talk about nose-bleed!!

Enjoying ice cream sundaes in helmets.

Saturday we hit the Stonebriar Centre in Frisco for some shopping. We had a great day! Camden and Claire loved the carousel ride.

The highlight of the weekend was when we had to pull over on the way home to let Jeremy pull out Camden's top tooth. It started bleeding and the drama started. In order for her to calm down, the tooth had to come out. Lucky for her, the tooth fairy still managed to find a few dollars to leave her, even after all the shopping.

Uncle Jeremy visits

My brother came in town this past week to help my mom in her recovery from surgery and there were 3 little girls who were so excited! All 3 had the best time playing with Uncle Jeremy. He had to leave Sunday afternoon to go back to London. Camden and Claire were very sad to say good-bye, but hopefully we will get to see him again soon!

And here's a few pics of our sweet Carlyle. She makes me laugh and smile all the time. She can be so sweet one minute and then the next minute she is throwing her cup, paci or whatever she can find in a fit of rage. We need to work on her temper. But, seriously, how can you not love this cute little face and those fat little cheeks??

Ready for Kindergarten

Wednesday morning Claire and I loaded up and headed up to Camden's school for Kindergarten registration and a tour of the campus. The thought of starting Kindergarten hasn't been quite as exciting for Claire as it was for Camden. Maybe it's the "2nd kid thing", or maybe it's just a "Claire thing". Regardless, I tried to get her in a good mood to go. We didn't have to do the tour, but I thought it might get her a little more excited about going to big school, even though she knew where most everything was already. We did the tour, came back and filled out tons of paperwork and then went to see Mrs. Sustaire, the principal. Claire loves Mrs. Sustaire and I think having a good relationship with her principal will make the transition to Kindergarten a lot easier for her. I know Claire will do great in school and I'm sure she will love making new friends, love her teacher and love being a big Kindergartener!

Happy 1st Birthday Nellie Grace!!!

Saturday morning the girls and I were so excited to be attending Nellie Grace's 1st birthday party! Of course, Camden and Claire were more excited about getting cake and playing with Cullen and Grayson. Leslie had worked so hard to make the ideas in her head become a reality and all the attention to details were just perfect! I was so impressed with everything, from the decor, food, table arrangements and special touches that I just had to take some pictures. I know Leslie is going to put some pictures on her blog that will capture more of the special day, but here are just a few things that just stood out to me. I hope she doesn't mind me posting these pics. We had a great time at the party and feel so honored that we could be a part of Nellie Grace's special day!

And, sadly I didn't get a picture of Claire. She, Camden and the older kids were running around all morning that getting a picture was a big challenge!

Fun at the hospital

After dropping Camden off at school on Wednesday, Claire, Carlyle and I went up to the hospital to see my mom before she went back for surgery. She had her gallbladder taken out, and it was supposed to be an outpatient surgery, where she would go home the same day. Unfortunately, when the surgeon went in, he found that her gallbladder had ruptured, therefore, requiring a more invasive surgery. She is still in the hospital, but is doing better. Hopefully, she will be able to go home the early part of this week. Here's a few pics I took of the girls just hanging out with Papa while waiting on Nana to be taken back to surgery.
