Family Togetherness

Ok...so I'm probably going to be banned from blogging after I tell this story, but it was SO funny that I just had to share it with all of you. Today, Camden was going to potty before naptime and she said she had to poo poo. Sometimes it is very hard for her to do this, so we sit and sit and sit. She finally thought she had finished, but then realized that she needed to go some more. It was getting pretty stinky in this small confined space, so I merely suggested we go ahead and flush and then she could finish up so it wouldn't smell so bad. She got upset when I mentioned this and said, "No mommy...they all have to stay together with their family". I laughed and laughed. Now, this may not be as humorous to you as it was to me, but I couldn't help but share.

Little Gym

Today the girls went to Little Gym. Camden is in a dance class and Claire is in gymnastics. After 30 minutes of dance, Camden's class switches to 30 minutes of gymnastics. So, she gets it all and really does well in both. But, I do think she is much more excited about getting to do the gymnastics with the bars and beams. I tried to get some pictures of them, however, I only got a couple of Camden. It was difficult to get pictures through the glass, especially with the glare. But, since I had to be in Claire's class with her, it was much easier to get a good shot. So, there are a few more pics of Claire than of Camden.

It's Pajama Time!

For the past week or so, Camden has been obsessed with pajamas. The girls had been wearing 2-piece pajamas (pants and top). But, about a week and a half ago, Claire decides that she's going to start taking off her pants and her diaper while in her crib. It usually takes her a little while to drift off to sleep, so I'm very used to hearing her talk while in bed. Sometimes, when I think about it, I will go in her room and check on her before I go to bed. And, when I don't think about it, I won't. Well, one morning after she awoke, I went in to find a pantless and diaperless little girl. Not quite sure when the bottoms and diaper came off, whether it was before she went to sleep, or after she woke up. But, needless to say, I have started going in and checking on her before I go to bed at night. I thought that one morning was an isolated incident, but have found her diaperless and asleep when I have gone in at night. I couldn't figure out how to keep her from removing her diaper. Then I had a brilliant idea...try the one-piece footed pajamas that zip up. And, I'm happy to report, that so far it's worked. She can't get out of them!! YEAH! Anyway, I only had one pair of those kind in Claire's size. So, I headed to The Children's Place to make a purchase of pajamas. While we were in there, Camden practically begged for some of the same kind of pj's. However, The Children's Place only went up to a size 3T in that particular style. I hated to leave empty handed for Camden, so I bought a size 3T, knowing that if they were just way too small, it wouldn't be long before Claire could wear them. So, it wasn't a waste of money. When we got home, Camden squeezed into them and has worn them EVERY NIGHT for the past week! NOT KIDDING! She loves them, so I decided to get online and order her 2 more pair of the right size. Well, they came today and as soon as we got home from school we opened the package. She immediately put them on and kept them on until bath time, took them off for bath and then put them back on to sleep in. Who knew that new pajamas could be so fun?? Anyway, all this talk of pajamas sent my mind straight to a cute little book that the girls have. We enjoy reading it so I pulled it out tonight to read to them before bed. The book is called Pajama Time, by Sandra Boynton. It's so cute that I'm just going to post a little of the text.

The moon is up. It's getting late. Let's get ready to celebrate. It's Pajama Time! Pull on the bottoms. Put on the top. Get yourself set to pajama-dee-bop-it's Pajama Time! Now some are old and some are new. Some are red and some are blue. Some are fuzzy. Some are not. But we can all pajammy in whatever we've got. It's Pajama Time! Ooooo yes, it's Pajama Time! Some are pink and some are green. Some are the ugliest you've ever seen. They might be stripey, or polka dot. But we can all pajammy in whatever we've got. It's Pajama Time!...

There is a little more to the book, but I think you get the picture. Anyway, below are Cam and Claire in their "stripey" and "polka dot" pajamas. Camden's so proud of her footed pj's.

Fall Festival #2

Tonight we went to the Fall Festival at our chuch. We invited Jaxson and Madeline to come with us. There was so much to do. Tons of bounce houses, inflatable slides and obstacle courses, games, food and candy! There were lots and lots of people there, which made the lines to the games very long. So, we spent most of our time at the bounce houses. The kids didn't mind because they had a blast. Although, as we leaving Camden complained because she didn't get very many treats. Oh well...trick-or-treating is right around the corner and I'm sure we'll get a large supply of treats in just a few days. We enjoyed some hot dogs and caramel apples, which were very tasty! What a fun night!!

New Harmony Fall Festival

Tonight we went to the Fall Festival at Marme' and Pops' church. The kids had fun playing games and getting candy. They came home with tons of candy that will last us a long time. Jaxson (Spider-Man) and Madeline (a flower) were there, too. Cam and Claire had fun with their cousins.

Last soccer game

Today was unofficially Camden's last soccer game. Next Saturday is really her last, but we will be in Waco for Baylor Homecoming, therefore, we celebrated today! She is really excited that she doesn't have to go to soccer anymore. I guess we can cross off soccer on the list of possible sports for our all-star to try. Oh well, she was a good sport about it and I think she really did enjoy playing a little bit. Today she got knocked down by some bigger boys and she DID NOT like that at all. I guess I'm kind of glad that she's more of a girly girl than an athlete. Here are some pics of her final game.

Another trip to the pumpkin patch

Today we went to Pappy's Pumpkin Patch with a friend and her little girl. It was our first time there and it was so much fun! And the best part was that it was FREE! All the girls had a great time!

Camping

Camden and Claire love to watch Barney. I swore I would never let my kids watch "characters" or give them anything related to "characters", but I did. Camden started off watching it and LOVING it and now Claire has joined the fan club. I guess it could be worse. Barney does teach lots of good things about feelings, manners, health and safety. Yes, he does get a little annoying, but how can I say no to my sweet little angels. Anyway, a few weeks ago they were watching it and Barney and the other characters were going camping. They had a campfire and were singing songs and roasting marshmallows for smores. Ever since then Camden has been bugging me about going camping. All she wanted to do was roast hot dogs and marshmallows for smores. So, tonight was the big night. We were at my parents house and my dad started a fire on his burn pile. He carefully prepared some sticks for the girls to use for their hot dogs and marshmallows. I was just going to use coat hangers, but I guess he wanted them to get the full effect of camping. He showed them how to hold it over the fire without letting the food touch the ashes. Camden did pretty well. Claire refused any help from mom or Papa and ended up dropping her hot dog in the fire. Oh well, after Papa finished cooking them, the girls quickly ate them up so they could have their smores. Camden enjoyed roasting the marshmallows and peeling the top layer off to eat it. She thought that was pretty neat. After we made the smores, both girls decided they would rather just eat the chocolate by itself. It wasn't as sticky and was definitely a little sweeter. They know what's good! And, of course, after camping everyone smells like smoke. Baths for everyone!! Thanks Papa for our camping experience!

Costumes

Today we had MOPS and all the kids were dressing up in Halloween costumes. They were going trick-or-treating and were going to parade through the MOPS meeting for all the mommies to see. Here's a few pictures of the girls all dressed up.

Pumpkins and Partying

After soccer and after our naps, I decided we needed to get a big pumpkin to carve. So, off we went to a pumpkin stand that is set up by the mall. I've taken some very cute pictures of Camden and Claire there in the past, so decided to try to get some today. Well, the girls were not very cooperative for me. I got a couple, but they could have cared less about smiling, sitting or even pumpkins. We did pick out a large pumpkin that we were going to carve with Daddy. We dropped off the pumpkin at home and headed to a birthday party. Jeremy just hates to carve pumpkins because of all the mess. But, he was a good sport and decided it would be easier to go ahead and clean out the seeds and yuck stuff before we got back home. In the meantime, we had SO much fun at Gage's birthday party. We got to bounce in the bounce houses, play on the swingset and with tons of balls. When we got home, Daddy and the girls decided on a face for our pumpkin, drew it on with a marker and got to cutting. Camden and Claire weren't real involved in the carving aspect, but sure enjoyed seeing our lit up jack-o-lantern. What a fun and busy day!!
