Camden's boo boo

Today at MOPS, Camden as involved in a little accident. The teacher was trying to raise the blinds so she could look outside when the blinds came out of the brackets and fell. They hit Camden's head just right and made a huge gash. She was bleeding profusely when the teacher brought her to me. A friend quickly grabbed my keys and drove us to the emergency clinic where we got right in. We were pretty sure she would need stitches, which the doctor confirmed. She was doing OK if she could sit in my lap, but once I had to lay her down on the table, she went crazy. I had to hold her still while the doctor gave her a numbing shot and then proceeded to give her 7 stitches. Luckily, he didn't have to cut any hair to stitch it up. Despite all of Camden's screams, cries and pleas to leave, I do have to say that my big girl was so brave. If only Mommy could have been as brave!

Still able to get a smile out of her, despite a head full of "kitty whiskers" as the doctor called them.

Happy Birthday Nana!

Today is my mom's birthday, but we actually celebrated last night. We took her to dinner and then came back to the house for cake and presents. The girls were so excited to blow the candles out with Nana.

Trip to Dallas

Today, my parents, Camden, Claire and I headed to Dallas for the day. Jeremy was going to join us, but, unfortunately, he had to umpire a baseball game. We had originally planned to go to the Arboretum to get some pics of the girls and see the pretty tulips while they were still in bloom, but the cooler and windier weather made us change our minds pretty quickly. So, the girls and I are going to do that this week sometime. Anyway, we started off the fun with a trip to the Dallas Farmers Market. They had some really pretty fruits and vegetables for some great prices. It would have been a lot more fun if it had not been so cold and windy, so our time at the Farmers Market was very short. Then we headed to the Dillard's Clearance Store in Arlington. We didn't find exactly what we were looking for, but was able to get my dad a great sports coat for a BARGAIN! Next, off to Grapevine Mills for some FUN for the girls. We ate at Rainforest Cafe', which the girls loved!! We even got a volcano for dessert (which we didn't request...it's a long story). But, it was VERY good!! Of course, we had to visit the Disney Store and take a couple of rides on the carousel. Before heading home, we went to the American Girl Store so Camden and Claire could have dessert with their babies. This was so much fun! They really enjoyed their cookies and milk! We had a great day in Big D but were all exhausted. The girls fell asleep in the car on the way home and didn't complain one bit about going to bed tonight. We really wore them out (and me too).

There was a lady making balloon animals and Camden requested a flower

March theme day

Even though we missed our February theme day because I was sick, we decided to stay on track and have our March theme day. The theme was "Flowers" and we had such a fun day. We started off the day with a pancake made to look like a flower. We added strawberries and whipped cream...yummy! Camden gobbled it all up!!

These are the books that we read for Flower Day.

Next, we had to go on a scavenger hunt around the house to find all the flowers. There was going to be a treasure at the end.

Camden found the treasure hidden under the kitchen table.

Claire was excited about her shovel and new gloves.

Time to plant flowers

Taking turns filling up the pots with some potting soil.

Time to watercolor a picture of some flowers.

Our last craft was to make a flower with muffin cups. Camden cut out the stem and leaves all by herself.

Azalea Trail

This weekend was the opening weekend of the Azalea Trails. I love taking the girls each year in hopes of getting some great pictures with all the beautiful flowers. So, today we headed out to the trails, in place of naps (which probably was not the wisest choice on my part). However, I did manage to get some pretty good pictures, despite the tired, whining, cranky kiddos that we lugged around. There was even one house that we went to and the owners were in the backyard with their dogs. They were dressing them up to take pictures with kids and adults. The girls thought it was pretty cute to see dogs dressed in bonnets holding baskets. The owner even let the girls give the dogs a treat after taking pictures. How nice!!

Trip to the park

The girls have been bugging me about going to the Brookshire's Wildlife Museum and Park and today I finally caved. They had so much fun, even though there were tons of kids there. They loved playing on the tractor and train! Here's some pics of our fun day!

12 weeks...FINALLY!!

It seemed like I would never get to the 12 week mark in this pregnancy, but I finally made it. Today I'm officially 12 weeks!!! Here are a couple of belly pics...please excuse the way I look. I have no make-up on because I have been sick for about a week now. I've had a horrible cold, but let me tell you that I've never had a cold so bad. My head hurt for 2 days straight, I had congestion (and still do), very, very bad sore throat (still), my ears throbbed for 5 days, which felt like they were going to explode, coughing, sneezing, and fever. YUCK!!! Today was the first day that I actually felt a little better. Maybe I'm on the mend. I'm hoping that the next two trimesters hold in store a little health and wellness for me. I'm really tired of being so sick. But, admist all the complaints of sickness, I am so blessed to be pregnant again and am looking forward to the rest of this pregnancy.
