It's an outside day!

I think the high today was in the upper 70's...so pretty. Needless to say, the girls spent much of the day outside. Here's a few pictures of them enjoying the nice weather while riding bikes and driving cars.

Trip to the zoo

Today was such a beautiful day that the girls and I decided to go to the zoo. They had such a great time. We enjoyed looking at all the animals, including their favorites, the giraffes. They also continued to ask when was it time to feed the fish. We were sad that we didn't get to go in to the "Wild About Birds" exhibit and feed the birds. There were workers working in that area and Camden was really sad. But, maybe next time we'll make it in there. The girls were so tired of walking toward the end, and as much as I hate to admit it, I was too. Apparently, we're all a little out of shape. Maybe this warmer weather will keep us outside more and will get us in shape for the summer.

On the road to recovery

Sorry this post is a little overdue, however, I've been sick since Wednesday with nausea/vomiting and am just now feeling better. I've been a little out of touch with my family since I've been stuck in the bed for 5 days. But, I do know that Camden and Claire had a Valentine's party at school on Thursday, and as much as I wish I had pictures to show, I wasn't able to attend. But, I do know they came home with some major loot from their friends! I had big plans to have our "Hearts and Love" day on Saturday, but really wasn't feeling up to it. So, maybe we'll just skip February's theme day and start planning for March. Or not...we'll see how I feel when that time rolls around. I did have a little energy on Saturday morning...just enough to put on our Valentine's tablecloth and get out the girls' Valentine's goodies. But, after 5 minutes of work, I was wiped out and headed to the couch to rest. Jeremy knew I would want some pictures, so he was thoughtful enough to take some of the girls enjoying their Mickey Mouse Paint with water books. Besides what they got from us, Nana and Papa and Marme' and Pops also contributed some great stuff for Valentine's this year. I think the girls had a great time, even though their Mommy was still sick in bed most of the day. But, I do have to say that Jeremy picked up the slack with bathing, dressing, entertainig, and feeding the girls, putting them to bed, and even managed to get in a little housework. I'm blessed to have a sweet husband who not only took care of the girls while I was sick, but also took care of me. Also, thanks to my parents and in-laws who also stepped up to the plate to help out with caring for the girls, and anything else that was needed. I'm feeling much better now...just trying to rest up to get some energy back.

Snowman Day

After reading my friend, Brittney's, blog I decided to "copy" her. She decided to pick a day each month to have a "theme" day. Each "theme" day included crafts to do, books to read, and special snacks/foods to eat that all go along with the theme. January's theme was Snowmen, however, as you can see we are a little late and did our January theme in February. But, we will still get our February theme (hearts and love) in, hopefully next Saturday. Valentine's Day-what a perfect day! Anyway, today we woke up and had snowmen pancakes, which the girls thought were pretty cool! Then we made paper snowflakes. Camden LOVES to use the scissors and cut, so this was probably her favorite activity!

Then, on to drawing a snowman and decorating the paper with cotton balls. Anything involving glue is always a big hit!!

Time to read some "snow" books...Frosty the Snowman, Snowballs, and Baby Donald makes a Snowfriend.

Check out our snowman we made with spice containers, cotton balls, googly eyes, buttons and construction paper.

One of the most fun activities was a snowball fight using cotton balls. Camden, Claire, Daddy and even Mommy had a blast throwing snowballs at each other!

What a special lunch treat..snowman sandwiches!
We also made cupcakes and made them into a snowman family. The best part...eating the cupcakes!

Round 2

Yesterday, I decided to keep Claire home from school one more day, just to make sure she was well. I think she's great now...eating well, playing well and feeeling well! FINALLY!! We had a great night with the girls. When trying to put Camden to bed she said her tummy hurt. This is not unusual for her, she tends to make things up that hurt when it's bedtime, in order to prolong her going to sleep. I gave her a chewable children's Pepto tablet and she went to sleep. At 9:30pm she started crying, so Jeremy went to check on her and she had thrown up all over herself, the bed, and the floor. He gave her a bath while I tended to the vomit covered bedding. I put it in the wash and then went to tackle the pink-stained carpet with some Resolve. Since her sheets weren't dry I decided to let her sleep on the couch and I would sleep on the floor, which meant basically no sleep at all. I got a bucket out so she could throw up in it. Thank goodness I did...after 3 more times of throwing up, finally around 4:00am she went to sleep. Claire ususally sleeps until around 7am, however, this morning she was awake at 6:15am. I tried to keep her quiet so Camden could sleep, which was a challenge. Cam finally woke up at 6:45 and, so far, seems OK. Hopefully she will have a good day and feel good, and I am definitely hoping for a nap.

Sick Claire

Sorry it's been awhile since my last post. Last week was busy and then over the weekend Claire got sick, which has taken up most of my time. She had diarrhea Saturday night, threw up twice on Sunday, diarrhea a few times on Monday and still more diarrhea today!! YUCK! You know she must feel bad when she just laid on the couch with me for about 45 minutes watching Little Einsteins. I'm hoping today is the last day of this mess, but unfortunately, I have no idea the time frame of this virus. But, I can say that I have done more laundry in the past 2 days than I've done in a week. OK..I just had to stop in the middle of writing this post to go change another explosion. I keep trying to get her to drink some pedialyte, but she HATES is. So, that only leaves a mother one option--BRIBERY. I can get her to take a few drinks of pedialyte in exchange for 2 skittles. I know, those probably aren't great for her tummy, but you gotta do what you gotta do. So, here's a picture of my pitiful sick baby, who decided to break out a smile for the camera.
