6 weeks old

Today Carlyle turned 6 weeks old. She is getting big, but is still so little (if that makes any sense at all). She is becoming more content, unless she is OVER tired and then it takes a lot of patience to get her calmed down. She is becoming more alert and staying awake more during the day. She is focusing more and will watch me when I talk to her. Carlyle LOVES to lay on her changing table with her diaper off, but we don't do that too long for fear of an accident. These past 6 weeks have flown by. Maybe it's because of the lack of sleep or maybe it's because I've got 3 kids to take care of and my life seems very chaotic at times. I feel so blessed to have 3 perfect, beautiful, healthy girls and an amazing husband to share all this chaos with. I can't imagine life without them!

Pumpkin carving

Tonight we decided to carve our pumpkin for Halloween. Camden and Claire couldn't wait for their Daddy to get home so he could help. Jeremy was beyond thrilled for this annual tradition (note my sarcasm here). But, he was a good sport and put on a happy face. Claire dug her hands in to get out all the pumpkin guts. She didn't mind at all getting dirty. However, Camden preferred to just hold the bag for Claire to put the guts in. She did not want to get her hands dirty. Claire kept grabbing the little "saw" that came with the carving kit and wanted to cut out the face. When we continued to tell her that we had to help, she lost interest rather quickly. So, that just left Camden to help her Daddy and they did a pretty good job.

Costume parade

Today at school all the classes had a costume parade for the parents. Camden and Claire were excited to get to wear their costumes to school. We had to get a picture with Charley, who was also a clown for Halloween. Next, we tried for a shot of all 3 babies: Carlyle who will be 6 weeks tomorrow and was NOT a happy camper about the pictures, Callen who will be 8 weeks tomorrow and was really enjoying her nap, and Leighton who was 11 weeks yesterday and was just as happy as she could be. None of the pictures are that great because my daughter decided to make it dificult. Oh well, maybe we can try again soon for a better picture. I didn't get any pictures of the girls during the parade because it was over before I knew it. Guess I can save my battery for Saturday's trick-or-treating. Can't wait!!

Fall Festival

Last night was our Fall Festival at church. Camden and Claire couldn't wait to dress up in their clown costumes. Even Carlyle had a matching costume. All 3 were SO CUTE!! Aunt Rachel and Jax met us at the church for lots of fun!! We started off playing games and the kids filled their bags with candy. Then off to the bounce houses and inflatable slides. Jax, Camden and Claire loved the slides and wanted to do it over and over again! Carlyle snoozed through the entire night. I never even got her out of the car seat to show off her costume. Oh well, I guess we can show it off on Halloween. We had such a fun night and the girls can't wait to wear their costumes again!!

5 weeks old and Baylor Homecoming

Today Carlyle turned 5 weeks old and she was so excited to be going to Waco for Baylor Homecoming. OK...so maybe she didn't show much emotion about the trip, but her Mommy was excited to introduce Carlyle to Baylor and all of its wonderful traditions. My parents, Jeremy and the girls and I headed down to Waco on Friday. Camden and Claire were very anxious to see the bear. So, after we ate dinner we headed to campus to catch a glimpse of the Baylor Bears. Saturday morning was the big parade. I was a little nervous about how Carlyle would do during the parade because of the cooler weather, as well as the loud noises. She woke up from her nap and was not a happy camper, so Nana took her in the bookstore where they were out of the wind, fed her a bottle, and she napped very peacefully during the parade. Camden and Claire racked up on the candy. We were smart this year and brough some bags for all of their loot! They had the best time and it's so fun watching them as they take it all in! After the parade, we headed to Ninfa's for lunch. Yummy!!! Before heading home, we went back to campus for a few more pictures. I love Homecoming and look forward to many more years to come!! Special visit

Camden, Claire and Carlyle had a special visitor on Friday. Uncle Jeremy flew in from London to see his nieces. Camden and Claire were super excited to see him and I know Carlyle was anxious to meet her uncle for the first time. Uncle Jeremy came bearing gifts for the girls (he sure knows how to win some brownie points). Camden and Claire wanted their uncle's attention all weekend, from coloring to playing games to wrestling on the floor. We had a great weekend together and are so glad that Jeremy got to come visit. We can't wait until we get to see him again at Christmas! We love you, Uncle Jeremy!!!

3 weeks old

Carlyle turned 3 weeks old on Friday. Here are some recent pictures of our sweet girl. Carlyle is doing good. She's still on reflux medicine and we switched formula, yet again, due to extreme fussiness. We're not sure if it was reflux, tummy trouble or what, but we went to the Gentlease, which is supposed to be more sensitive and easier to digest. We started that Friday evening and she seems to be much more content. Not to say she doesn't have her moments of crying, however, it's NOTHING like it was. It's also making her poop more and it's easier for her to go with a lot less straining. (I'm sure that was way more info than you wanted) Hopefully, this switch will do the trick and Carlyle will be a much happier baby.

Pumpkin Patch

Today we met Mrs. Caren, Charley and baby Callen at the Pumpkin Patch. The older girls had so much fun! I'm sure Callen and Carlyle had fun, too. The girls rode a barrel train, played on the swingset, fed the catfish, played on the tractor, picked out pumpkins, posed for some pictures and went on a hayride. What a fun and exhausting morning! Thanks Mrs. Caren for bringing your girls out for us to play with. We had a great time!!
