Rangers Game-2nd attempt

Well, Friday night was the night that the girls' had been waiting for since the beginning of June. The Ranger's game! Our first attempt was at the end of June and we made it all the way to Dallas, sat down at On the Border for dinner before the game and Camden said she needed to throw up. We did make it to the bathroom, just not to the toilet. Anyway, the night was a total waste...got the girls back in the car for another 2 hour trip home. They were both very disappointed. Camden kept saying she felt so much better and wanted to go to the game. I just couldn't chance it. So, we ordered more tickets to see the Rangers and last night was the big night. The girls were so excited to see the game, especially because of the fireworks after the game. We made it to Dallas, back to On the Border and were able to eat this time. Got to the game right before it started and they were amazed at everything. In the bottom of the first inning, Claire asked me if it was time to go yet. From that point on, I knew their attention was not going to be on the game. They were bored already and we still had 8 more innings to go. In the second inning, Jeremy took them to walk around. They came back wanting me to take them back up so they could play some games. So, in the 4th inning Jeremy and I both took them into the gift shop to look around and we let Camden hit some balls off the tee. She started off with the yellow bat, but she kept missing the ball. So, she traded for the red jumbo bat and was hammering each one. Claire was pretty reluctant so she decided not to hit. As we were looking around for more games, the dark gray clouds moved over the ballpark and the winds picked up. We made it back to our seats and within about ten minutes it started to rain. We were under the covered part, but it started raining really hard and the wind was blowing the rain so we were getting a little wet. We, along with almost everyone else, walked up by all of the concessons and gates, just waiting for it to slack up. We waited, and waited, and waited. Camden and Claire did really well. They were both exhuasted, wet and cold. With no place to sit we continued waiting for about an hour. Finally, it let up enough for us to speed walk to the car. I quickly changed the girls out of wet dresses into dry pajamas, cleaned off their dirty feet and got them buckled into their car seats with their blankets. Claire was alseep within about 10 minutes. What a night! I know they were once again disappointed to not see any fireworks, but we were all glad to be out of the rain!
