First Day of 1st and 2nd grade

Monday was Camden and Claire's first day of school. I really can't believe they are in 1st and 2nd grade!! They are getting too big, too fast!!! But, at least they still don't complain about wearing smocked clothing. I just love it and love how cute they are in it!! The girls woke up to a few "1st day of school" decorations. They loved it and I loved making it a special morning! After breakfast, getting dressed and doing hair we were ready for a few pictures.
And, luckily I was able to get a picture with Mrs. Cantrell, since I forgot that on "Meet the Teacher" night.

Claire's Baking Party

Saturday was Claire's much anticipated Baking Birthday Party!! No matter how much time you spend planning and preparing, sometimes things just don't go as you had envisioned in your head:) The party was great, but much more chaotic and crazy than I had imagined!! I had decided that decorating cupcakes would be alot easier with 17 kids than actually mixing ingredients and baking them. I recruited my mom to make 12 aprons for all the girls and I ironed on the boys' names to a solid red apron. I know my mom probably wanted to shoot me for getting her so involved. I so appreciate how hard she worked to help make Claire's birthday party such a fun event and a special memory!!

Claire turns 6!!!

Friday was Claire's birthday and she turned 6! When she woke up, she had gifts to open and then we had to run errands for her birthday party. We went to lunch and then she got to pick out a cupcake. She was so excited!! It was a pretty low key day as we got ready for her big baking party. Happy Birthday to my sweet Claire Bear!!

Meet the Teacher

Thursday night was Meet the Teacher and Camden and Claire were super excited about meeting Mrs. Hinna and Mrs. Cantrell. Both teachers made each girl feel super special and I know we are going to have an amazing year!! Unfortunately, things were crazy and I forgot to get a picture of Claire and Mrs. Cantrell. But, I did get one today...the first day of school.

Pine Cove

The last week of July, Camden and Claire went to day camp at Pine Cove. They had the best time. They came home every day with dirty faces and stained clothes, but they couldn't wait to go back the next day! Thanks to Marme', Pops, Nana and Papa for helping to send them to camp. They had closing ceremonies on Friday and their counselors got to talk about a few qualities that they noticed about each camper during the week. They are already looking forward to next summer!!
